Bishkek, Feb. 16, 2021 / Kabar /. Acting Mayor of Bishkek Baktybek Kudaibergenov met with Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Belgium Muktar Dzhumaliyev.
According to the press service of the capital’s Mayor’s Office, during the meeting the sides discussed the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of water supply.
"In particular, the issue of allocation of an interstate loan by the Belgian Government for the implementation of projects to improve the safety and modernization of the drinking water system in Bishkek which has been considered since 2017 was debated,” the report says.
The issue of preferential loan in the amount of EUR 8 million with zero interest rate through the CMI/Balteau Belgian company, which, in its turn, takes responsibility for the project implementation, including supply of equipment, without participation of the Kyrgyz party, was also raised.
This financing will include the following components:
- Design and construction of a surface water intake with a capacity of 2.0 thousand m3/hour at the Orto-Alysh water intake site;
- Organization of control and metering of drinking water supply with remote data transmission to multi-storey residential buildings and private households in Bishkek (metering devices - water meters).
On Oct. 23, 2012 an agreement was signed to establish close ties between Bishkek and Liege.
