Bishkek, Nov.15, 2024. /Kabar/. Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev participated in the 29th session of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and ministerial meeting on energy initiatives in Baku.
The event discussed the development of green energy corridors and zones, the press service of the Energy Ministry said.
Energy ministers also presented information on the ongoing work on the development of green energy and expressed their opinions. In the course of the meeting, Minister Taalaibek Ibraev made a speech, noting that the development of green energy is a requirement of today.
“By implementing the Green Strategy, energy ministries should annually increase the share of renewable sources in the energy mix by 2050 through the introduction of innovative technologies for the production, storage, transit and delivery of clean energy.
The Kyrgyz Republic has significant opportunities for solar, wind energy and green hydrogen production. The country is building small HPPs and constructing new solar and wind power plants. Kyrgyzstan is rapidly moving into a new era of green energy,” the minister said.
He also noted the readiness to support Azerbaijan's initiatives to create green energy corridors, regions and clean energy storage technologies in the context of developing a joint action plan and strengthening climate finance.
“I believe that it is possible to achieve efficient use and management of water resources in Kyrgyzstan and the region, taking into account clean energy production, through joint implementation of renewable energy projects. These measures will help strengthen energy, environmental and food security not only in our country, but also in other countries of the region,” Ibraev said.
In addition, the minister expressed support for the goals of the conference on clean energy production and green initiative.
