Coronavirus detected in 1,120 children in Kyrgyzstan so far

Bishkek, Sept. 2, 2020. /Kabar/. As of August, the coronavirus was detected in 1,120 children under 14, Head of the Department of Pediatrics with a course of anesthesiology and resuscitation of the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute of Postgraduate Training and Advanced Training named after Daniyarov, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Venera Shukurova said at a briefing Wednesday.

Among them, there are 117 children under 1 year old, 354 from 1 to 5 years old and 649 from 6 to 14 years old.

"According to the Center for e-Health, cases of pneumonia for 6 months of 2020 are declining compared to the same period in 2019,” Shukurova added.

As of Sept. 2, Kyrgyzstan reported 78 new COVID-19 cases, 44,036 in total.

246 people have recovered over the past day and discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries to 38,895.

Currently, 670 COVID-19 patients are still in hospitals throughout the country and 4,799 patients are receiving treatment at home.

The COVID-19 fatality rate in Kyrgyzstan stands at 1,060, as no new deaths have been registered in the last 24 hours.
