Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2024. / Kabar /. The country's economic growth is reaching new heights, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov told, speaking at the III People's Kurultai (Assembly) which began its work today.
The head of state noted that in 2020, the country's GDP amounted to 639 billion soms, and in 2024, Kyrgyzstan plans to increase this figure to 1.5 trillion soms. "This suggests that in a short period of time, the country's economy has grown by 2.5 times. Of course, this is not the limit. In 2025, the GDP will exceed 1.8 trillion soms. This suggests that economic resources will grow three times compared to 2020," he said.
Zhaparov noted that the country's budget is also growing rapidly every year. "If in 2020 the budget was 247 billion soms, then by the end of this year we will bring the budget to 687 billion soms. This figure is three times higher than in 2020. In 2025, we plan that the country's budget will exceed 700 billion soms. We will continue to strengthen the financial component of the country in the future," he said.
