Bishkek, Nov.14, 2019. /Kabar/. The external debt of Kyrgyzstan is planned to be reduced to 46.5 % of GDP by the end of 2019, Prime Minister of the country Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said at the budget for 2019 and the draft law on the budget for 2020 review meeting.
He noted President Sooronbay Jeenbekov's external debt non-increasing policy has found support in society.
In this regard, the prime minister specifically noted the issue of the country's external debt.
“Kyrgyzstan's external debt began to stabilize in 2018. If in 2017 the external debt of the country was 54% of GDP, in 2018 the figures amounted to 48% of GDP. In 2019, the external debt will be reduced to 46.5%," he said.
PM Abylgaziev added the Kyrgyz Government has strengthened its position to reduce wasteful expenditures. This is the strategy of the budget that will be pursued as the main.
