About 3 thsd Kyrgyz citizens around world to arrive on chartered planes

Bishkek, March 21, 2020./Kabar/. At today's briefing at the Government's house, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) Kurmanbek Akyshev told how many Kyrgyz citizens will be transported home from all over the world.

He reminded all regular flights have been restricted since March 20.

"The Republican Headquarters has decided to organize charter flights to transport our citizens to their homeland. We will arrange transport for our citizens by Aeroflot, Ural Airlines, Siberia and our airline Avia Traffic. A schedule has been drawn up. Under this schedule, 6 flights have already been made.

There are still 3 flights planned. By the evening about 1000 citizens will fly to the airports of Bishkek and Osh.

A number of other flights are scheduled for tomorrow and March 23," Akyshev said.

The CAA director added the number of charter flights will total 12. In three days, 3,000 citizens from different countries will be delivered.

In addition, with the consent of the Republican Headquarters, several more flights will be implemented.

The total number of coronavirus infected in Kyrgyzstan reached 14.

Earlier, 12 cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the south of the country. One in Batken region, 8 in Suzak region and three in Nookat region.

2 cases were detected today in Bishkek.

A regular narrow format meeting of the Security Council was held on Saturday to discuss the current situation in the country, related to the coronavirus spread.

As a result of the meeting, the Kyrgyz Government declared a state of emergency throughout the country.
