Bishkek, Jan. 7, 2022. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov chaired a regular meeting of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19.
During the meeting, information from the Ministry of Health was heard regarding the epidemiological situation in the republic and the progress of work on vaccination of the population.
Over the past day, 247 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded, most cases in the city of Bishkek and Chui region.
Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said that 400 reserve beds in healthcare organizations will be prepared in the capital in case of an increase in morbidity. At the moment, there is a sufficient supply of medicines and personal protective equipment.
In connection with the abolition of the requirement for mandatory PCR test results for COVID-19 for all persons crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border, express tests will be conducted at the checkpoints.
Following the meeting, the relevant ministries and local authorities were instructed to strengthen the vaccination campaign and the introduction of a booster dose of vaccine to the population, as well as to increase the preparedness of healthcare organizations for a possible increase in morbidity in case of the import and spread of the omicron strain in the country.
