Bishkek, July 26, 2021 . / Kabar / . The incidence of COVID-19 coronavirus infection has been decreasing in Kyrgyzstan since last week, Deputy Minister of Health Uluk-Bek Bekturganov told Kabar News Agency.
1,100-1,200 new daily cases were detected the week before last, and 970-990 cases were identified last week.
"We hope the decline in morbidity will continue at a good pace until mid or late August. We believe vaccination will play a key role in this. The vaccination process is now well underway. We urge people to get vaccinated and not to believe unreliable information about the vaccine. If everyone receives the vaccine, the next 4-5 waves of COVID-19 will be easier. We plan to vaccinate 70% of the population by October," he said.
Kyrgyzstan's total tally of COVID-19 coronavirus infection has climbed to 158,120 after an overnight registration of 973 cases.
Along with this, 136,700 recoveries were registered and 2,261 fatalities recorded.
