COVID-19: Kyrgyz citizens continue to arrive to homeland

Bishkek, June 27, 2020. /Kabar/. Plane of Aeroflot - Russian Airlines on the Moscow - Osh route has arrived on Saturday in Kyrgyzstan.

326 Kyrgyz citizens, from Russia, including 41 children under the age of 2 were returned to homeland on this flight, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

"This flight was performed as part of implementation of agreements reached by the Kyrgyz, Russian Foreign Ministries in accordance with the instruction of President and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the ongoing work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens, located in foreign countries because of temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the world.

In view of the large number of people wishing to return to their homeland, the passenger lists for these flights were compiled by a Commission, consisting of representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora, doctors from Kyrgyz medical clinics in Moscow and representatives of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia," the report says.

The selection was made on the basis of personal applications of Kyrgyz citizens on humanitarian criteria. In particular, women who are late in pregnancy and have young children, as well as citizens who have serious illnesses and previously left for Russia for surgical operations and other urgent medical procedures.

All those arrived will be placed under surveillance (observation) to undergo appropriate medical procedures in accordance with the established procedure.

The work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens who are in foreign countries and wish to return to their homeland continues.
