COVID-19: Kyrgyzstan brings back citizens from UAE and number of countries

Bishkek, July 17, 2020. /Kabar/. Another Fly Dubai airline export flight on the Dubai-Bishkek route has arrived in Kyrgyzstan Friday, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

159 Kyrgyzstanis from the United Arab Emirates, including young children have been returned to the homeland.

"This flight was performed as part of implementation of agreements, reached with the Emirati side in accordance with the instruction of President and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the ongoing work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens, located in foreign countries because of temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the world,” the report says.

The flight also brought back compatriots from the USA, Canada, the UK, Afghanistan, Egypt, the Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Maldives and Bahrain.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry recalls next flights on the Dubai-Bishkek route are scheduled for July 24 and 31, which may return to Kyrgyzstan compatriots from countries that have resumed regular communication with the UAE.

Before checking in at Dubai Airport, passengers passed rapid tests for coronavirus infection, which showed negative results.

The work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens who are in foreign countries and wish to return to their homeland continues.
