Bishkek, March 18, 2021. / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Nurbolot Usenbaev told about the epidemiological situation in the republic, related to COVID-19.
During a press conference at Kabar News Agency, he did not rule out the introduction of temporary restrictions in case of worsening the epidemiological situation.
Usenbaev added that the tension has not yet subsided today, quarantines and lockdowns are introduced in many countries.
Regarding new cases and mortality rate, the deputy minister noted that in recent weeks the tension is increasing.
"We have to be even more careful. Now the first question we asked is whether quarantine will be imposed in the republic as in other countries. It depends on the development of the epidemic situation. If the spread continues to grow, of course, temporary restrictions will have to be introduced. It is worth noting that the state of emergency has not yet been lifted.
For example, in Bishkek not all students attend schools, this is also a restriction. Each country has commissions, which will make a decision depending on the epidemic situation. Of course, there will be no nationwide restrictions, everything will be decided at the local level, within the oblast, districts and towns,” explained Usenbaev.
In recent days, number of coronavirus cases is growing in Kyrgyzstan.
The health authorities of the republic confirmed 98 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, after conducting 3,597 tests within a day, raising the tally of infections to 87,143.
Of these, 84,031 patients have recovered, while the death toll stands at 1,485.
