Bishkek, June 26, 2020. /Kabar/. Plane of Aeroflot - Russian Airlines on the St. Petersburg – Bishkek route with 554 Kyrgyz citizens on board, including 41 minor children under age of 2 has arrived Friday in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
"This flight was performed as part of implementation of agreements reached by the Kyrgyz, Russian Foreign Ministries in accordance with the instruction of President and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the ongoing work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens, located in foreign countries because of temporary closure of borders and the suspension of international passenger air traffic due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic in the world.
In view of the large number of people wishing to return to their homeland, the passenger list for this flight was compiled by a Commission, consisting of representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora in St. Petersburg, associations of Kyrgyz students, employees of the Office of the Embassy in Russia and the Honorary Consulate of the Kyrgyz Republic in St. Petersburg,” the report reads.
The selection was made on the basis of personal applications of Kyrgyz citizens on humanitarian criteria. In particular, women who are late in pregnancy and have young children, students studying in higher education institutions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region of Russia, as well as citizens who have serious illnesses and previously left for Russia for surgical operations and other urgent medical procedures, valid reasons for return, associated with the death of close relatives.
All those arrived will be placed under surveillance (observation) to undergo appropriate medical procedures in accordance with the established procedure.
The work on the return of Kyrgyz citizens who are in foreign countries and wish to return to their homeland continues.
