COVID-19 pandemic accelerates transition to digital education in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Apr. 30, 2020 / Kabar /. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the transition to digital education, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanybek Isakov told a news briefing.

“The crisis against the background of coronavirus accelerated the process of transition of Kyrgyz education to digital format. We attracted more than 400 teachers to take video lessons. Teachers are currently learning to teach online and remotely. Thus, the digitalization process has begun. We educate teachers and students with digital skills,” Isakov said.

He said that parents also assist in teaching of children.

The minister said that the contest "Digital Pedagogy" has been announced in the republic and they already receive applications.
