Bishkek, Sept. 3, 2020 / Kabar /. The COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected the implementation of investment projects of the Ministry of Transport and Roads of Kyrgyzstan, First Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of the Kyrgyz Republic Talantbek Soltobaev told at a briefing.
He said that the introduction of quarantine measures and the closure of international borders made it difficult to mobilize personnel, materials, and also impeded the free movement of personnel at the site. “In order to restore work as soon as possible in a pandemic, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have organized work on the delivery of specialists to the work sites. Since May 2020, about 450 international specialists have arrived in Kyrgyzstan. In the implementation of some projects, as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a delay in the implementation schedule - on average about 3-4 months,” he added.
