Criminal case initiated against head of Kyrgyz Supreme Court: National Security Committee

Bishkek, Dec. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. A criminal case has been initiated against Gulbara Kaliyeva, the Chairwoman of the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan, Head of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev told during a press conference on Thursday.

He said the case is being investigated and the investigation has collected enough evidence to bring her to criminal responsibility.

"We transferred materials to the disciplinary commission. If the commission decides, we will bring her to justice. We believe that she violated the law, as a consequence of which a great damage was caused. We will bring the case to an end," he said.

Tashiev did not name what exactly the head of the Supreme Court is suspected of, citing investigative secrecy.
