Criminal case may be opened regarding former Kyrgyz President Atambayev

Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2019. / Kabar /. If in the framework of criminal cases on top officials in Kyrgyzstan there is information or testimony about the involvement of former President Almazbek Atambayev, he will be brought to justice, Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbaev told reporters during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He said that it is possible that in the course of the investigation or court hearings there may appear evidence that some individuals are involved in criminal cases.

Sagynbaev stressed that if there were such facts, then a criminal case would be opened against Atambayev taking into account if the Parliament decides to deprive the inviolability of ex-presidents.
