Bishkek, Feb.4, 2020. /Kabar/. In January-December 2019, crop production was produced for an amount of KGS 110 485.1 million, the growth rate made 102.6%, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported Tuesday.
For January-December 2019, the gross yield of grain in weight after refinement increased by 2.3% compared to 2018, and amounted to 1781.4 thousand tons. At the same time, there is a decrease in losses of production grain.
Gross barley yield amounted to 465.9 thousand tons and increased by 8.5% compared to the level of 2018, which is due to an increase in sown area under barley by 7.6% (206.4 thousand hectares), as well as yield by 0.3 c/ha from 22.4 c/ha to 22.7 c/ha.
In 2019 the area of corn amounted to 106.4 thousand hectares, which is 1.2% more than in 2018. Gross maize grain harvest amounted to 711.8 thousand tons and increased by 2.7% compared to the 2018 level. Yields reached 66.1 c/ha and increased by 6.8%.
Leguminous crops were sown on an area of 62.2 thousand hectares, which is 0.9% higher than the 2018 level. Gross harvest was 108.6 thousand tons, with a yield of 17.4 c/ha. The production growth rate was 101.8%.
Last year, cotton was sown on 24.4 thousand hectares, or 6.1% more than last year's level. Gross cotton harvest amounted to 80.2 thousand tons and increased by 7.4% compared to 2018.
The Concept of Cotton Industry Development in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2017-2021, which is being implemented from 2017, contributes to the increase in production and development of the cotton industry.
Compared to 2018, the gross yield of fruit and berry crops has increased, amounting to 269.5 thousand tons (7.2% increase compared to 2018 level). Gross harvest of grapes amounted to 8.8 thousand tons (an increase of 0.9% compared to 2018).
