Bishkek, Mar.1, 2020. /Kabar/. Laureate of international contests Zakirbek Duishenbek uulu (Kyrgyzstan) and soloist of the State Russian Folk Orchestra N. P. Osipov Alexander Nikolaichuk performed at the opening ceremony of the Cross Year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The opening ceremony of the Cross Year was held on Feb. 27 at the Kremlin Palace with the participation of Presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
It was attended by more than 200 Kyrgyz and Russian artists.
The komuz is an ancient Kyrgyz fretless string instrument.
It is the best-known national instrument and one of the better-known Kyrgyz national symbols.
The balalaika is a Russian stringed musical instrument with a characteristic triangular wooden, hollow body, fretted neck and three strings.
