Bishkek, Oct. 13, 2023. /Kabar/. The active phase of the joint exercise Indestructible Brotherhood 2023 with the Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization took place in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the exercises, preparing and conducting a peacekeeping operation by the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces in the Central Asian collective security region was worked out.
The goals of the joint exercises Indestructible Brotherhood 2023 were: for commanders to gain practice in organizing a peacekeeping operation and managing units of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, to improve the field training of personnel of peacekeeping contingents during joint actions, to strengthen relationships and cooperation between the CSTO member states , as well as further improvement of combat training of national contingents of the CSTO member states when performing assigned tasks during a peacekeeping operation.
In the course of practical actions, several tactical episodes were worked out - the transfer of military contingents to designated areas by means of transport aviation, the formation of columns and marching on automobiles and armored vehicles, the organization of security, conducting reconnaissance of the movement route, demining improvised explosive devices, blocking and destroying illegal armed groups, performing tasks to protect important government and military facilities.
As part of the exercise, practical actions were also carried out on serving at checkpoints (roadblocks), the procedure for inspecting vehicles, patrolling, and providing first aid to refugees. Actions were practiced to escort convoys with humanitarian aid, protect important infrastructure facilities, block and inspect a populated area, storm a building, and assist in the provision of humanitarian aid.
In total, national contingents of peacekeeping forces from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan with a total number of about 1,500 military personnel, as well as more than 200 units of aviation, armored and automotive equipment, military transport, fighter and army aircraft, sea vessels and unmanned aerial vehicles took part in the exercises.
