Bishkek, Nov.11, 2019. /Kabar/. On Nov. 7 Ankara Music and Fine Arts University hosted the cultural event, dedicated to the memory of Suimenkul Chokmorov and Tattybübü Tursunbayeva, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The event was organized by the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Turkey together with TURKSOY, and included an exhibition of pictures about the life of the two actors, as well as the Red Apple film, shot by famous director Tolomush Okeyev, based on the story of great Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliyev noted the invaluable contribution of Suimenkul Chokmorov and Tattybübü Tursunbayeva to the development of Kyrgyz culture and the coincidence of this cultural event on the Days of History and Commemorate of Ancestors, celebrated in Kyrgyzstan on Nov.7.
The ambassador stressed great writer Chyngyz Aitmatov and director Tolomush Okeyev are also an example for today and future generations.
The event was attended by cultural figures, representatives of foreign Embassies in Ankara, Kyrgyz and Turkish students, as well as citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic residing in Turkey.
Suimenkul Chokmorov was a Kyrgyz film actor born in Chon Tash village, Kirghiz SSR (now Kyrgyzstan). He featured in such a films as A Shot at the Karash Pass, The Seventh Bullet, Dersu Uzala, Scarlet Poppies of Issyk-Kul, The Red Apple.
Tattybübü Tursunbayeva was a well-known artist of the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR, and a member of the Soviet cinematographer's union and Kyrgyzstan's theatre guild.
