Bishkek, Oct. 12, 2020 /Kabar/. The curfew on the territory of the Bishkek city during the state of emergency will be valid from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for all citizens and stateless persons, except for state and municipal officials who carry out and promote the activities of the commandant's office.
According to the press service of the Bishkek City Internal Affairs Department, the corresponding order of Bishkek commandant is currently being prepared.
The state of emergency is introduced on the territory of Bishkek for the period from 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 12 to 7:00 a.m. on Oct. 19, 2020.
In addition, the Bishkek commandant's office has banned meetings, rallies, street processions and other public events.
A ban is also imposed on the sale of alcoholic products and weapons from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. every day.
Following the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, held last Sunday with the participation of 16 parties, supporters of political parties, which failed to win seats, organized protest actions in Bishkek demanding the annulment of the elections and claiming gross violations. Preliminary results showed that four parties crossed the 7 percent threshold to enter the parliament.
Kyrgyzstan's Central Election Commission on Tuesday annulled the results of the elections after clashes between police and protesters.
On Oct. 6 President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed a Decree according to which a state of emergency is introduced in the capital city of Bishkek.
Today, Oct. 12 a state of emergency regime has been reintroduced in Bishkek, as the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan did not consider within three days the previously introduced state of emergency on the territory of the capital.
