Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2020 / Kabar /. The daily level of air pollution in Bishkek exceeds the norm by 9.8 times, Begayim Alipova, the head of the department for monitoring atmospheric air pollution of the Agency for Hydrometeorology under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
She said that the agency has been monitoring and analyzing atmospheric air for over 60 years.
“Currently, there are 7 stationary and 1 automatic air quality monitoring posts in Bishkek. So, yesterday, December 14, the daily rate of carbon monoxide in the air exceeded the norm by 2.5 times, nitric oxide by 1.8 times. In addition, according to the data of the automatic north-western stationary post, yesterday the level of atmospheric air pollution exceeded the average norm by 9.8 times,” she said.
Air pollution level sensors are installed in the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Kara-Balta, Cholpon-Ata, Tokmok.
