In Kyrgyzstan, since the beginning of 2021, the damage from the consequences of natural disasters on the roads amounted to more than KGS 121 million, Deputy Director of the Department of Road Management under the Ministry of Transport and Communications Beknazar Bazaraliyev said Tuesday during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

In May-July 2021, there were heavy rains in Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas, Issyk-Kul and Batken Oblasts, which resulted in destruction of road surfaces of many roads for general and internal economic use, damaged culverts and bridges.
However, Bazaraliyev pointed out that KGS 175 million 700 are provided this year for the winter maintenance of roads, of which the implementation of winter maintenance to date amounted to more than KGS 111 million.
"To date, the readiness of roads for the winter season is 15%. In turn, additional KGS 150 million are required for full preparation and implementation of works on winter maintenance,” the representative of the Transport Ministry added.
