Bishkek, June 25, 2019. /Kabar/. Construction of the Data Center is planned in Kyrgyzstan, Dastan Dogoyev, the Chairman of the State Committee for Information Technology and Communications told during the press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He said that research activities and compile a social and economic study are planned for 2019.
“The construction of the Data Center will be carried out as part of the Digital Casa project with the financial support of the World Bank, whose budget is USD 50 million. Half of this amount is made up of credit funds, while USD 25 million is a grant,” Dogoyev said.
"The project duration is 5 years, with location in Bishkek or Chui Oblast. Currently, work is under way to implement the project components," the chairman said.
Data center or data processing center is a specialized building for placing (hosting) of server and network equipment and connecting subscribers to the Internet channels.
It performs the functions of processing, storage and distribution of information, usually in the interests of corporate clients - it is focused on solving business problems by providing information services.
Consolidation of computing resources and data storage in the data center allows to reduce the total cost of ownership of IT infrastructure due to the possibility of effective use of technical means, for example, the redistribution of loads, as well as by reducing administrative costs.
