Bishkek, June 17, 2022. /Kabar/. This year, the mortality of children on the roads increased by 50% compared to 2021, Elkin Arstanbaev, the senior inspector of the Main Directorate for Road Safety said during a briefing in Bishkek on Friday.
In the first five months of this year, number of accidents declined by 7.6% in comparison with 2021. In addition, the number of fatalities decreased by 14% and the number of injured - by 7%.
"As for accidents involving minors, this year’s number of accidents increased by 0.9%, where the number of deaths also grew by 50%, and those injured - by 1.2%," the inspector said.
Arstanbaev added that the number of accidents caused by drivers with up to 1 year of experience has decreased.
Thus, 21.4% decline in number of accidents was recorded in 2022, the number of people killed in such accidents decreased by 38.4% and those injured - by 23%.
