Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2021. /Kabar/. Deputy Mayor of Bishkek for social issues Aizhan Chynybaeva discussed with heads of the capital health organizations the epidemiological situation of acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and coronavirus infection.
According to the press service of the Mayor's Office, the reduction of cases of acute respiratory viral infections in the capital was noted during the meeting.
Thus, 52 thousand 183 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were registered in 2020, which is 17% less than during the same period of 2019 (66 thousand 538 cases).
In addition, 3 thousand 759 cases of acute respiratory infections were recorded in January 2021, which is 39.5% less compared to the same period in 2019 (9 thousand 512).
The Bishkek Mayor's Office said vaccination against influenza is carried out by the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.
"In 2020, a total of 88 thousand doses of flu vaccine were received, the coverage of vaccination made 100%. In turn, 15 thousand doses of GCFLU vaccine (South Korea) arrived on Jan. 1, 2021. As of today, 7 thousand 501 people were immunized," the report said.
