Defense ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey debate prospects for cooperation

Bishkek, June 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan’s Defense Minister Taalaibek Omuraliyev met on Tuesday with Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan for an official visit.

The meeting took place in the Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Defense Ministry said.

In his welcoming speech, Minister Taalaibek Omuraliyev expressed confidence that the meeting would contribute to the fruitful development, further expansion and strengthening of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation between the ministries.

In turn, Hulusi Akar assured that Turkey will fully continue to implement the planned activities in the military and military-technical fields, and will take in the near future effective measures for the gradual implementation of previously reached interstate agreements in the field of defense between the two countries.

During the meeting, Taalaibek Omuraliyev and Hulusi Akar debated the current state and prospects for the development of military and military-technical cooperation between the Defense Ministries of the two countries, as well as issues of medical care for Kyrgyz soldiers and their families in the medical institutions of Turkey.

The sides expressed strong confidence that Kyrgyz-Turkish relations in the military sphere would continue to develop and strengthen, both in the interests of cooperation between the brotherly defense ministries and ensuring regional stability and security.
