Delegation from Kyrgyzstan participates in C5+1 meeting in Uzbek capital

Bishkek, July 15, 2021 . / Kabar / . A delegation from Kyrgyzstan participated in a regular C5+1 meeting (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and the United States) held in Tashkent.

The press service of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the main topic of the meeting was the situation around Afghanistan amid withdrawal of coalition troops from the territory of this country.

"The Kyrgyz side expressed concern about cross-border threats emanating from Afghanistan, and noted its readiness to provide all possible assistance in resolving the conflict, which should be based primarily on the intra-Afghan dialogue," the report said.

The sides discussed in detail overcoming negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, including the issue of equitable distribution of vaccines among states and cooperation in the field of food security.

"The participants of the format agreed to further develop cooperation in the economic and security sphere as a means of promoting stability and countering threats emanating from Afghanistan," the report run.
