Bishkek, Aug. 13, 2024. / Kabar/. A delegation from Kyrgyzstan will take part in the 13th Sharq Taronalari Festival (Melodies of the East) in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
The festival will be held from August 26 to 30 in ancient Samarkand under the auspices of UNESCO. The event will be attended by more than 300 representatives from 70 countries.
A competition will be held among the festival participants, where performances will be evaluated by an international jury in two areas:
- professional (classical) direction of folk music and song;
- music created by contemporary composers.
The winners will be awarded special diplomas and cash prizes in the nominations "The Youngest Participant", "The Best Participant According to the Audience" and "The Best Performer of Traditional Music".
The event also includes an international scientific and practical conference on the topic: “Musical Culture of Eastern Peoples: Principles of Creative Coherence in the Context of Globalization.”
The International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari” has been held since 1997.
