Delegation of Kyrgyz Constitutional Court takes part in İDAY conference

Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2022. / Kabar /. A delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, headed by its chairman Emil Oskonbaev, took part in the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the States of the Islamic World (İDAY) in Istanbul, from December 22 to 25.

According to the press service of the Constitutional Court, the delegation took part in the event at the invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Turkey, Zukhta Arslan.

During the event, the Charter of the organization was adopted. It was attended by 136 representatives of the supreme judicial power of constitutional supervision from 36 countries of the world.

Also during the visit, the chairman of #ConstsudKG took part in the first meeting of the Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (TÜRK-AY), which was founded by Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Northern Cyprus and Turkmenistan acted as observers in this organization.

In honor of the establishment of two large-scale institutions, an international conference was also organized, in which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part and delivered a speech.

“As you know, the scope of the constitutional judiciary is wide. Today, constitutional courts are indispensable institutions for the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms,” the Turkish President said.

He thanked the heads of the highest courts of constitutional supervision of the Islamic world for participating in the conference. “Cooperation and exchange of experience of the highest judicial bodies exercising constitutional supervision within the framework of the Conference of the Islamic World Constitutional Judiciary is of great importance,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan added.
