Tashkent, March 31 / Kabar /. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan headed by deputy chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Rustam Mamasadykov took part in the 30th meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO) on March 30 in Tashkent.
The participants agreed on the report of the SCO RATS Council to the Council of Heads of the SCO member states on the activities of the SCO RATS in 2016. Also considered the progress in the implementation in 2016 of the Program of Cooperation of the SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism for 2016-2018 and earlier decisions of the SCO RATS Council.
The participants highly appreciate the results of the joint anti-terrorist exercise conducted by the competent bodies of the SCO member states "Cooperation-2016" in Tajikistan.
Representatives of the SCO countries approved the draft SCO Convention on Countering Extremism.
The parties decided to hold in 2017 joint anti-terrorist exercises, border operations of the competent bodies of the SCO member states and the Fifth Scientific and Practical Conference on Cooperation in the Sphere of Countering International Terrorism and Extremism between SCO member states and observer states.
The participants of the meeting positively assessed the activities of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS over the past period.
The Council also adopted a number of decisions on organizational and personnel matters, ensuring the activities of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS and further developing the legal framework for cooperation of the SCO member states in the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
An agreement was reached to hold a regular meeting of the SCO RATS Council in September 2017 in China.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Executive Committee of the RATS SCO.
