Bishkek, Oct.30, 2019. /Kabar/. On Oct. 30, 2019 Kyrgyzstan’s military delegation, headed by Chief of the General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces, Major General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers (CDM) of CIS member states, held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The press service of the General Staff reported that the CIS CDM was attended by delegation from defense ministries of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting focused on the issues of multilateral interaction among military ministries of the CIS member states.
During the meeting, Chiefs of General Staff discussed the results of the V International Army Games 2019, outlined the ways to expand the composition of the teams and the geography of the competitions.
The key attention of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff was paid to the further development of cooperation in the military sphere. To this end, the draft Concept of Military Cooperation of the CIS member states until 2025 was approved, which is aimed at achieving a new level of cooperation in the military sphere, reflects the national interests and joint priorities of the CIS countries in the field of ensuring security and countering modern challenges and threats.
The CIS CDM meeting supported the proposal to give the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation the status of the basic organization of the CIS member states in the field of operational and strategic training of officers of the armed forces.
The decisions, taken during the meeting, are aimed at developing the system of multilateral military cooperation taking into account common and national interests.
