Bishkek, May 23, 2022 / Kabar /. The Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly has began in Geneva (Switzerland), which is attended by delegations from all member states of the World Health Organization, including the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev.
The press service of the Ministry of Health reported that within the framework of this visit, in order to discuss further steps to strengthen cooperation in the field of health, meetings are planned between Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and the heads of delegations of a number of WHO member states.
The agenda of this Assembly includes consideration of a number of issues related to the health system, such as achieving universal health coverage, measures to prevent non-communicable diseases, providing effective protection for health emergencies, ensuring improved health and well-being, including global strategies and health action plans.
The World Health Assembly is the highest decision-making body of the World Health Organization. The main functions of the Assembly are to determine the direction of the Organization, appoint the Director General, oversee the financial activities of the Organization, review and approve the proposed program budget. Its annual sessions are held in Geneva, Switzerland.
