Delegation of Ministry of Defense of Kyrgyzstan arrives in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, March 26, 2022 / Kabar /. The delegation headed by Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant-General Baktybek Bekbolotov, arrived in Uzbekistan for an official visit, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss the state of bilateral relations in the field of regional security and defense, issues of bilateral military cooperation and measures to expand them.

The official meeting ceremony of the Kyrgyz delegation was held at the central office of the Ministry of Defense with the participation of a guard of honor and a military band.

At the meeting the heads of the ministries of defense of the two countries noted that the leaders of the two countries have mutual trust and friendship, and the Kyrgyz and Uzbek peoples are historically close neighbors, united by a common history, common religion, culture and traditions that have always lived side by side.

Minister of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant-General Bakhodir Kurbanovsaid that the Central Asian states are the main priority of Uzbekistan's foreign policy. “Relying on the historical, national and cultural unity of peoples, strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness, Uzbekistan will continue to adhere to an open and constructive policy in relations with its closest neighbors,” he said.

One of the main directions of Uzbekistan's policy is the completion of the delimitation and demarcation of state borders in the region, strengthening security and mutual trust. In this regard, the sides discussed issues of further strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense, which is a continuation of the issues of cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation will get acquainted with the activities of higher military educational institutions, including the Academy of the Armed Forces, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Military Communications of the Ministry of Defense, the Chirchik Higher Tank Command Engineering School, the Higher Military Aviation School of the Republic of Uzbekistan. They will also visit some military facilities of the country, as well as visit the historical sights of the city of Samarkand.
