Denis Petrashov wins gold at tournament in USA

Bishkek, April 12, 2024 / Kabar/. Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Denis Petrashov won a gold medal at a tournament in the USA.

According to the Aquatics Federation of Kyrgyzstan, at the most prestigious TYR series tournament in the USA, which brought together the strongest swimmers in America, Kyrgyzstani Denis Petrashov won a gold medal in the 100 m breaststroke.

According to sports experts, this was a swim worthy of the final of the Olympic Games.

Throughout the entire final swim, intrigue remained and tension was in the air. It couldn’t have been any other way, because at the start there were gathered world champions, continental champions, and Olympic Games finalists. Three swimmers Michael Andrew, Denis Petrashov and Nick Fink completed the first 50 meters in less than 28 seconds.

Andrew was slightly in the lead with a time of 27.93, Denis was close behind with a time of 27.97 and Fink was third with a time of 27.98.

But it was Denis who showed champion speed throughout the entire distance and built the most skillful strategy. This became the decisive factor in the swim. Denis's result is 59.83 and he is the only swimmer to complete the distance in less than one minute in the final.

Fink, the reigning world champion, followed in 1:00.03. Ron Polonsky took third place, and the famous Andrew was left without a medal.
