Deputy FM of Kyrgyzstan, Ambassador of Germany discuss bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, May 8, 2020 / Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Azizbek Madmarov today met with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Monika Iversen.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on measures taken in the Kyrgyz Republic and Germany to prevent coronavirus. The German side was thanked for the support provided to the Kyrgyz Republic in the fight against coronavirus and the hope for further cooperation.

The sides also discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-German cooperation in various areas of cooperation, including issues of development cooperation between the two countries.

The German ambassador briefed about the reform of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, in which the German side plans to reprogram external assistance with the main focus on the poorest, most critical countries in the world and taking into account global challenges.

At the same time, Iversen noted that the Kyrgyz Republic has risen in terms of development and does not belong to the category of the most needy countries in the world. The ambassador emphasized the significant achievements of the Kyrgyz Republic in the framework of financial and technical cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany, the improvement of living standards in our country, as well as the successful democratic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service said.

The head of the German diplomatic mission said that the cooperation between the two countries will continue in the field of economics, environmental protection, cultural and humanitarian and other spheres, as well as within the European Union, UN and other international and financial institutions.
