Deputy FM of Kyrgyzstan and ambassador of Sweden discuss state of bilateral relations

Bishkek, March 29, 2022 / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Moldogaziyev received Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Baku Christian Kamille, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The sides discussed the state of bilateral relations, as well as the schedule of upcoming visits and events for the current year, including as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Sweden this year. The Swedish side expressed interest in further expanding and strengthening cooperation across the entire spectrum of bilateral and multilateral relations.

The sides also exchanged views on the international agenda, including political and security issues on the situation in Ukraine. In particular, Moldogaziev stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic proceeds from the fact that any conflict must be resolved exclusively by political and diplomatic means at the negotiating table. It was noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is a firm supporter of the observance of universally recognized norms and principles of international law, enshrined in the UN Charter and other documents. Deputy Minister Moldogaziyev stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic supports the launch of the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine on a peaceful settlement of the conflict and is interested in the parties reaching mutually acceptable solutions as soon as possible.

Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to strengthen bilateral trusting relations.
