Bishkek, Apr. 30, 2020. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Azizbek Madmarov had on Thursday a telephone conversation with Anick Van Calster, Deputy Minister, Director General for Bilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.
The sides discussed the measures taken in both countries to combat the COVID-19 virus.
Deputy FM Madmarov indicated the interest of the Kyrgyz side in obtaining experience of Belgium in the fight against COVID-19 through direct communication and exchange of information between medical institutions and the Health Ministries of the two countries.
In the course of the phone talk, the parties discussed issues of political, trade and economic cooperation, strengthening and expanding the inter-ministerial dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and the Kingdom of Belgium.
The two deputy FMs debated implementation of the results of the third round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Federal Public Service for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, which took place on Nov. 29, 2019 in Brussels.
An exchange of views on consular issues was also held. The importance of continuing close cooperation within international organizations was noted.
