Deputy health minister urges people to listen to reasonable recommendations and to isolate themselves

Bishkek, May 6, 2020 / Kabar /. The epidemiological situation in Kyrgyzstan remains steadily tense, Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbolot Usenbaev told a news briefing on Wednesday.

He stated that a decrease in the number of infected was not observed.

“This is a stable situation that does not tend to drop sharply. Therefore, accordingly, this must be ensured by an epidemiological regime so as not to aggravate the situation. Today there is a relaxation of the regime, but a state of emergency remains in Bishkek, Osh and At-Bashin region. Despite this, there is a large crowd of people on streets. This leads to a high risk of transmission,” he explained.

The deputy minister of health urged people to listen to reasonable recommendations, maintain a distance between people and to isolate themselves.

“If such recommendations are not respected and the situation escalates, then we will take tough measures. If the population continues to violate the rules of self-isolation and quarantine, then soon after about 2 weeks, we may get the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic,” said Usenbaev.

28 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Kyrgyzstan in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number in the country to 843. A total 614 people have recovered and 12 have died.
