Deputy Osh mayor takes part in 10th Int'l Eurasia World Heritage Cities Conference

Osh, April 3, 2021 . / Kabar / . X International Conference of Eurasia World Heritage Cities entitled "Heritage. Tourism and Urban Planning", organized by the Akimat of Turkestan (Kazakhstan) and the Eurasian Regional Secretariat of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC).

Deputy Mayor of Osh Zamir Yusupov took part in the virtual meeting.

He made a presentation on the tourism potential of the Osh city in the Virtual Exhibition of World Heritage Cities. One of the topics of the conference was the plenary session "Heritage Conservation and Cultural Tourism in the context of COVID-19".

In his speech, Yusupov emphasized the tourist features of Osh as one of the oldest cities on the Great Silk Road, and spoke about the attractions of the city, the cultural objects, the participation of the city in one of the largest international cultural events, when Osh was named the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

Akim of Turkestan Rashid Ayupov, OHCHR President Jacek Markowski, Director of the UNESCO Almaty Office Krista Pikkat, OWHC Secretary General Lee Minaidis, as well as representatives of OHCHR cities and towns: Turkestan (Kazakhstan), Shakhrisabza (Uzbekistan), Sviyazhsk (Russia), Osh (Kyrgyzstan), Kazan (Russia), Novi Pazar (Serbia), Denpasar (Indonesia), Sakha Republic (Yakutia, Russia), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Sheki (Azerbaijan), Nesvizh (Belarus), Suzhou (China) participated in the event.
