Deputy PM Boronov about reason for proposal to prolong state of emergency in country

Bishkek, Apr. 13, 2020. /Kabar/. The Republican Headquarters for Preventing Import and Further Spread of Coronavirus Infection in the Kyrgyz Republic proposed to President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to prolong the emergency and state of emergency, First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatnbek Boronov said at a news briefing at the Government House.

He told that for today figures show number of coronavirus infected people is increasing.

"We need time to fully study, to identify all those who have been contacted,” the deputy PM added.

Kubatbek Boronov noted the work to identify individuals who have had contact with people infected was being completed, but new cases have been revealed, which expands these figures.

He stressed the search for people who had been contacted with coronavirus patients is under control of the Headquarters.

Meanwhile, First Deputy PM Boronov did not specify until what date it is proposed to extend the state of emergency in some parts of Kyrgyzstan.

From March 25 to April 15, a state of emergency is in force in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Dzhalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu regions of Osh Oblast and in Suzak region of Dzhalal-Abad Oblast.

Movement for all citizens, except for those who are issued with a pass, namely internal affairs officers and medical and civil servants, is limited between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. (night time). A curfew is established.

As of Apr. 13, 42 more cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Kyrgyzstan, thus bringing the total to 419.

Of these, 19 cases are infection of medical workers.

67 citizens have recovered and discharged from hospitals, five have died.
