Deputy PM reports to President on measures to support medics and population

Bishkek, Apr. 17, 2020. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov received Friday Deputy Prime Minister Aida Ismailova, his press service reported.

Measures to prevent further spread of coronavirus infection, to stabilize the epidemiological situation in the country, to support medical workers and socially vulnerable population groups were discussed.

Jeenbekov noted that at the moment special attention of Social Cluster Deputy PM should be paid to healthcare issues.

The Kyrgyz leader noted that based on the analysis of specialists, the country will soon reach the peak of incidence of COVID-19. He stressed the necessity of ensuring and full readiness of medical institutions, equipping them with ventilators, antiviral drugs, test systems, personal protection means and other necessary means.

Jeenbekov drew attention to the need to develop various scenarios of the epidemiological situation in the country for the next period. He also noted the need to provide the population with complete and open information about the current situation with the virus, the receipt and distribution of humanitarian aid, and funds from special accounts, where contributions of citizens and organizations are accumulated.

He also highlighted ensuring timely social payments to veterans and participants in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the heroes of the April Revolution.

Deputy PM Ismailova provided information on the current situation with coronavirus infection in the country.

She reported that intensified work is continuing to establish a full range of contact persons and to place them under observation and home quarantine.

The deputy prime minister noted all allowances will be paid to the medical personnel in time. For this purpose KGS 38,5 million have already been directed and by the end of April, KGS 132 million are planned to be allocated.

She also said that in the coming days medical specialists from China and Poland are expected to arrive in the country to help and share experience in the fight against coronavirus infection.

A platform has been developed, where an online interactive map, information about the epidemiological situation in the country, distribution and accounting of humanitarian aid in regional perspective, etc. is placed.
