Bishkek, Apr. 6, 2018 / Kabar /. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Dayir Kenekeyev met with representatives of the World Bank led by Julian Lampietti, Global Practice Manager, the Kyrgyz Government’s press service reported.
The meeting was also attended by Bolormaa Amgaabazar, the World Bank Country Manager for the Kyrgyz Republic and Danielle Meuwly Monteleone, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The sides discussed the implementation of current projects, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
The Vice Prime Minister said that today the development strategy of the country is being developed until 2040, which is the first strategic document in the republic designed for a long-term perspective.
"We want to lay the foundation for our further development in the short, medium and long term. Particular attention within the framework of this strategy in the short term will be given to Taza Suu, Development of Irrigation and digital transformation Taza Koom projects," Kenekeyev said.
The Vice Prime Minister also talked about the prospects of the country in the agricultural sector.
Kenekeyev expressed gratitude to the World Bank for the support provided in implementation of the program for the development of a dairy sector in Issyk-Kul oblast as a pilot region.
Julian Lampietti said that there is a rich history of cooperation between the bank and the government and a number of socially significant projects are being implemented in the country.
"Kyrgyzstan has great prospects in the agricultural sector, and we are ready to enhance joint cooperation to implement projects in this direction," Lampietti said.
At the end of the meeting, the World Bank Country Manager presented a road map for the implementation of the Water Code and proposals for cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
Kenekeyev approved the proposal and expressed readiness for cooperation on this issue.
