Bishkek, April 7, 2022 / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov, as part of a working trip to Geneva (Swiss Confederation), met with Amina J. Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations via videoconferencing.
During the conversation, the UN deputy secretary-general congratulated the Kyrgyz people on the conclusion of a peaceful agreement with the Canadian mining company Centerra Gold Inc..
“Please accept my congratulations on the conclusion of the Agreement. This is a huge success! This step will help accelerate the path towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Amina Mohammed.
In turn, Edil Baisalov told his interlocutor about the implementation of national development programs by the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as the main foreign policy initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development, announced by President Sadyr Zhaparov.
The sides also exchanged views on the main current issues on the UN agenda and outlined the next steps for joint cooperation
