Deputy speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament, EU special rep for Central Asia meet

Bishkek, Dec.9, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Azygaliev met with European Union Special Representative for Central Asia Terhi Hakala on the occasion of the completion of her mission, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.

In the course of the meeting, Azygaliev noted the personal contribution of the EU special representative for Central Asia to the development and deepening of cooperation between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic, and wished success in further diplomatic activities.

Referring to the issues of cooperation between the European Union and the Kyrgyz Republic, the deputy speaker emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is interested in continuing an active dialog in bilateral and regional formats.

“We are united by a mutual desire to respect and strengthen universal human values. In this context, we support the initiatives of the European Union in the field of the rule of law, education development, digitalization and transport interconnectivity,” Azygaliev stressed, adding that the European Union has been our reliable partner throughout the history since Kyrgyzstan's independence.

Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Terhi Hakala expressed special gratitude for cooperation, noting that the European Union supports the ongoing reforms and initiatives in the country in the areas of promoting green economy, improving the socio-economic situation and security of the country.
