Bishkek, May 18, 2022. /Kabar/. Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Ulan Primov met with Chair of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova as part of his participation in the 3rd General Conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO PA) in Baku.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed issues in the spheres of political, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation and inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
"Kyrgyzstan is interested in deepening comprehensive relations with Azerbaijan, especially in developing inter-parliamentary cooperation and expanding the dialogue between the friendship groups of the two parliaments," Ulan Primov said, referring to the interaction within TurkPA and IPA CIS.
Besides, he noted that the ECO Parliamentary Assembly is a platform for inter-parliamentary cooperation. The deputy speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament outlined issues related to strengthening trade and economic cooperation and talked about Kyrgyzstan's investment opportunities.
The chair of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan stressed the important role of the parliament in the successful implementation of agreements, reached during the meetings of heads of state of the two countries.
Sahiba Gafarova invited the Jogorku Kenesh delegation to participate in the first meeting of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement to be held in June 2022.
