Bishkek, May 20, 2022. / Kabar /. Director of the Information Department, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nurlan Suerkulov commented to Kabar Agency on the article by Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper about a group of people allegedly existing in the country and lobbying for the western vector of the development of the republic.

- Recently, Komsomolskaya Pravda published an article stating that an influential group of officials has appeared in the political elite of Kyrgyzstan, advocating a review of relations with Russia, the rejection of an alliance with Russia and rapprochement with Western countries ... How can you comment on such statements?

- In accordance with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the determination of the main directions of foreign policy is the prerogative of the President of the country only, and the foreign policy department of the country is directly involved in its implementation.

The Kyrgyz Republic is a firm adherent of the course of strategic partnership and alliance with the Russian Federation, compliance with existing agreements, obligations and reached agreements, both in a bilateral format and within the framework of our common integration associations.

I would also like to emphasize that Kyrgyzstan is pursuing a pragmatic, balanced, open, multi-vector and consistent foreign policy and will continue to develop mutually beneficial relations with its Western partners.
