The Development Bank of Tajikistan has opened correspondent accounts in several foreign banks, including HDFC Bank (India), First Heartland Jusan Bank and Freedom Finance Bank (Kazakhstan), IBA-Moscow (the International Bank of Azerbaijan located in Moscow), Commercial Bank KYRGYZSTAN (Kyrgyzstan), and Interstate Bank, ASIA-Plus reported.
The Bank says this move is aimed at improving its ability to conduct international transactions and strengthening economic ties with international partners.
It will simplify cross-border payment operations, and enhance the efficiency of financial operations for the Development Bank of Tajikistan.
