Development of international multimodal route of Asia-Pacific countries discussed in Kyrgyzstan

A six-party meeting of the heads of railway administrations on the development of the international multimodal route Asia-Pacific countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey - Europe was held on Thursday in Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul.

During the event, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Turgunbaev greeted the participants, noting the role of this event, stressing that the decisions made following the results will give impetus to further cooperation in the field of railway transport.

In turn, Azamat Sakiyev, General Director of Kyrgyz Temir Zholu State Enterprise, emphasized the importance of the event, which will expand the range of coverage of cargo transportation in the Asia-Pacific countries.

“The practice of annual meetings shows that the route development project has significantly expanded its boundaries and is already serving as an effective platform for solving current issues of strengthening interaction between railway administrations, logistics companies and other route participants,” Sakiyev said.

The participants discussed the current results of the implementation of the international multimodal route project. The sides noted that the coordinated measures and interaction of all participants in the corridor contribute to the development of the Route, increase the volume of cargo transportation, speed up the passage of container trains and organize combined transportation of goods along this route.

As a result of the event, a protocol was signed, which reflects measures aimed at the further development of the multimodal route "APR countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe".

The heads and representatives of the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Turkey, as well as the logistics company of Azerbaijan took part in the meeting.
