Bishkek, August 2 / Kabar /. Chief of the President’s Office of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov met with US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sheila Gwaltney on the occasion of the completion of her diplomatic mission in the country, the Kyrgyz President’s press service reported.
Sapar Isakov emphasized that the Ambassador's activities in Kyrgyzstan were effective, thanks to which various projects were implemented aimed at developing the country and strengthening bilateral relations. He said that the development of friendly and partner relations with the United States is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. Isakov stressed the importance of further strengthening the relations between the countries, expanding and deepening the mutual spheres of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Ambassador Gwaltney also noted that during her work, fruitful and effective cooperation between the two countries was achieved. She also noted with satisfaction that Kyrgyzstan and the United States have a rich history of partnership over the past 25 years. At the same time, Gwaltney added that the United States fully supports the democratic process in Kyrgyzstan. The ambassador also stressed that the upcoming presidential elections are a positive example of a peaceful transfer of power and an important achievement of democratic reforms in the country.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda and prospects for further cooperation in various spheres of mutual interest.
